Lamborghini Swerves Away from All-Electric Future

– Lamborghini’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, claims a decline in enthusiasm for electric vehicles among customers.
– The brand will continue using internal combustion engines for at least the next decade to preserve the sound and emotion of their cars.
– Hybrid power options are becoming the focus, with a decision pending on the upcoming Lanzador model’s configuration—either all-electric or plug-in hybrid.
– Lamborghini currently offers three main models:
Temerario and Revuelto: Both are plug-in hybrids combining powerful petrol engines with electric motors.
Urus: A luxury SUV available as a plug-in hybrid or conventional petrol vehicle, accounting for over 50% of Lamborghini’s sales.
– A limited-edition Fenomeno super-sports car will be produced, reaching speeds over 215 mph, with only 30 units available at a starting price of €3 million (£2.6 million).
– Plans for an all-electric Urus, initially set to launch in 2029, have been postponed to 2035.
– Winkelmann emphasizes that staying with internal combustion engines for another decade is vital for the brand’s success.
– Unlike rivals like Ferrari, which is advancing with electric models, Lamborghini remains committed to its legacy while addressing emission concerns responsibly.
