This admission came during a Brasília hearing, shortly after his removal from house arrest. He confessed to attempting to tamper with the monitor using a soldering iron, insisting he had no intention of escaping.
At 70, Bolsonaro was recently sentenced to over 27 years for orchestrating a failed coup after losing the 2022 election. His actions incited chaos, leading to thousands storming government buildings, resulting in around 1,500 arrests. Now in custody, Bolsonaro faces further legal challenges, including a ban from public office until 2060.
