The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reported that the All-India House Price Index (HPI) increased by 3.1% year-on-year in Q4 2024-25 (January-March 2025), consistent with the 3.1% growth in Q3 2024-25 but lower than the 4.1% growth in Q4 2023-24. On a sequential (quarter-on-quarter) basis, the HPI rose by 0.9%. The data, based on transaction-level information from registration authorities in 10 major cities—Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Mumbai—showed varied growth rates. Kolkata led with an 8.8% annual increase, while Kochi saw a 2.3% contraction. Bengaluru, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Chennai recorded sequential price rises.
