A Boeing 767-300 cargo plane was landing in Miami after departing from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Sunday when it overran the runway and crashed.
The Amazon Prime Air flight struck "multiple vehicles" on the road, and "multiple patients" have been treated, the local fire rescue tells the BBC's US news partner CBS.
The aircraft then caught on fire, as more than 60 members of the Miami Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene.
The airport closed all runways and issued a full ground stop after the incident.
