Israel Strikes Hezbollah, Killing Senior Official
Israel’s military has killed Haitham Ali al-Tabtabai, Hezbollah’s chief of staff, in an airstrike on southern Beirut’s Dahieh district. This attack, the first on Beirut in months, defied a ceasefire established last November, resulting in at least five fatalities and 28 injuries. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that Israel would not allow Hezbollah to regain military strength. Meanwhile, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the strike, calling for international pressure on Israel to cease ongoing attacks. With rising tensions, Hezbollah’s military activities, including drone production, raise fears of escalating conflict in the region.
